Tea for Two

My munchkin, Grace, turned two recently and we celebrated with a Tea for Two. The menu included a variety of sandwiches cut into fun shapes, petite pastries, spanakopita, savory tarts, rainbow fruit skewers, lemonade and (drum roll....) tea. It was iced. :) We were still "preparing" beyond the event start time. My sister, her babies (my original little loves who have now crossed into the waters of teen-dom), a friend who happens to be an awesome event planner, Jocelyn Crawford and her lovely family, and every person who walked in until we were all set up rolled up their sleeves and pitched in. Kids singing pop songs played as a bevy of family and friends spanning three generations buzzed about, reminicent of the shindigs my grandmother, great aunt and uncles used to host in the very same neighborhood during my childhood. I am overwhelmed with gratitude for everyone who shared the day with us adding glitter to our hearts and hope that our Gracie-poo will remember the feelings of joy she so openly displayed throughout the day and understand that it was caused by the love of a village.
